On Saturday 13th June 2020 we finally built a school garden at Manurewa South School. This build was originally planned for April but that Covid-19 thingy meant we had to postpone. There was a last minute change to the location of the entire school garden, but our Chief Go Getter quickly measured up the new space and we made it happen. It was an awesome day with an amazing bunch of volunteers, made up of teachers, school board members, parents and of course the “friends of Oke” crew. We once again built a great outdoor space; raised beds, tunnel house, compost bin were all built and fruit trees from Kings Plant Barn were planted. And we had a tool shed delivered and built by Gary’s Garden Sheds. A couple of days after the build, Manurewa High School delivered to friendship benches, which we had organised to be built. This build was fully funded by Beyond Horizon Trust.
