and fundraise for Oke!

Love Oke’s mahi? Help us to continue growing mighty kids by fundraising for us, no special occasion needed! We’ll support you every step of the way too – expect shout outs and encouragement on socials from the Oke team, and perks from us for meeting certain milestones.

By fundraising for Oke, you’ll be supporting our mission to expand the “Growing a Future” programme to more schools across Auckland and beyond. For each Outdoor Classroom Oke builds, we provide schools with everything they’ll need to maintain a thriving school garden. Every donation helps with things like garden tools, compost, soil, garden beds, a greenhouse, seeds, seedlings, trees, plus ongoing resources and support from the Oke team.

Oke Charity is a small, passionate team of three making a mighty impact, proudly rooted in South Auckland, powered by community, and committed to equity in education. We’re not growing food – we’re growing capability, confidence, and connection – and you can be a part of that!

Z’s Good in the Hood - Z Karaka - August 26th - September 21st

Pop into Z Karaka and vote for Oke so that we can get a share of Z’s $1 million for Kiwi community groups! One token = one vote to support our mahi, and each one helps!

Z’s Good in the Hood is a community funding programme run by Z Energy in New Zealand. Each year, $1 million is given to local groups doing good in their neighbourhoods. Customers vote with orange tokens at Z stations to decide how the money is shared, helping support grassroots initiatives like Oke across the country.

Outdoor Classroom Week 2025: 15-19 September

Oke’s first Outdoor Classroom Week 2025 takes place from September 15th–19th! We’ve put together fun activities for teachers and tamariki from our partner schools, along with helpful resources to enjoy a week of garden-themed learning and play, culminating in a day of fundraising to support Oke – “Fund it Friday”.

Outdoor Classroom Week coincides with our annual Spring Hui, giving partner schools the chance to connect and learn from each other during Teacher Tuesday. Hosted by Kingsford School, this day invites teachers to meet, share ideas, and discover new ways to bring their outdoor classroom programmes to life in a relaxed, inspiring setting.

Kind by Design-September 18th

Kind by Design NZ is a free event in Auckland to help to fuel social impact innovation by giving non-profits a platform to share their stories. They are a warm fuzzier version of Dragon’s Den — instead of pitching for funding, non-profits like Oke are pitching for creative time and talent. This event supported by 10×10 Philanthropy, which have a shared vision of empowering social enterprises and not-for-profits through in-kind branding and marketing support.
