Working Bee

Earlier in 2021, Oke was approached by Lightforce to work on a project with Glenavon School. The kids at Glenavon School had been visiting Kelmarna Education Gardens to learn the ins and outs of gardening, but they didn’t have a garden at school to continue their learning. So, Oke stepped up and helped get their “outdoor classroom” built through an epic working bee. Once again the kids build the Birdies Raised Beds prior to the week bee and with 40+ volunteers from the school, Lightforce and the Oke Crew, this working bee was our quickest yet in just under three hours. As well as getting the garden beds built and filled, the tunnel house was built, shed installed and we even managed to mulch the majority of the garden. And a special school bench was installed to thank Kylie Bisman for funding this build.
