Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School Working Bee

On Saturday 24th May, the Oke crew joined forces with the Otahuhu Intermediate School whānau for a working bee that delivered something truly special. With funding support from the Sargood Bequest Fund and the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board, we built an inspiring new outdoor classroom—adding another crucial link in the Otahuhu learning pathway. This space now connects hands-on education from primary years right through to Otahuhu College, creating a powerful continuum of learning in the local community. The turnout from students, parents, and teachers was incredible, and their mahi was matched with manaakitanga—thanks to the school providing delicious kai to keep the crew fuelled. A magic day of community, collaboration, and creating real opportunities for tamariki.
