Red Beach School Working Bee

On Thursday 12th September we headed over to Red Beach School, for what was one of our smallest working bees, but so much fun. We were joined on the day by a group of awesome ASB volunteers, some of whom we’ve worked with in the past at Wesley Primary and Favona schools. When Phill got in touch, who is the awesome caretaker at the school, he asked for some help with their native tree growing project and somewhere for his Enviro Minions to grow their seedlings. With the help of Dole New Zealand, our awesome Foundation Partner, we set about building the school a 6m Morrifield Tunnel House. This was the first time Oke has built a tunnel house this big and it was AWESOME! Whilst the Oke Crew got on with the building the tunnel house, the ASB volunteers carried out other projects around the school; harvesting flax, cutting back trees, planting new trees. Overall a great day and thanks again Dole NZ for funding this build.
