Summit Point School Working Bee
On Wednesday 4th September, the Oke Crew descended upon Summit Point School in Takapuna. Summit Point School’s doors opened in 2017, and it was the nation’s first registered, full curriculum school for dyslexic learners. This was only the second time we had ventured over the Bridge to transform a space into an outdoor classroom. We didn’t have much green space to work with, so we helped bring back some old raised beds to life and built a heap of new Vegepods. We were stoked to be joined by a team of willing volunteers from One New Zealand who located just down the road from Summit Point School. As well as the Vegepods, shelves were built for the shiny new Garys Garden Shed, where all the new tools will stored. This build was funded by the Stevenson Foundation, who have been supporting Oke since 2019.
